Strawberry and whipped cream cake is a family Italian recipe. It is a fresh and delicious cake. My mom has tradition to make during spring time when you can start to find in the local farm market the best Strawberris. They looks so read perfect and juice, their parfume make everyone eager to eat.
When I was child I was always exating to wach her to make. The whipped cream is always a good frosty for nice decor and the strawberries have a natural form and color that remember many little hearts. She was usually making “Strawberry and whipped cream cake” around Mather’s day so I did the same this year and my son watched me with the same curious eyes I was doing with her.
This dessert required little more time than usually you need to make a cake because here you have to prepare first the basic cake called ” Sponge Cake”. This is the basic Italian cake for many type of chocolate or fruit dessert . It is very simple and soft, the best cooker know to make without baking soda only 3 ingredients flour, eggs and sugar.

- 1 Lb Strawberries
- 4 Cup Water
- 1/2 Pint Heavy whipping cream 250 ml
- 1 Lb Strabberries

- Prepare the strawberries juice. Mix 4 cup water with sugar add cutted strawberries and lemon flavour( optional you can add limoncello or any cake liquor). Put in the refrigerator for 3 or more hours. Prepare the yellow lemon cream Put the milk, eggs, sugar and flour and lemon flavor. Mix the 1 1/2 cup milk, the 1/4 cup flour, 1/3 cup sugar and 2 the lemon flavor. In a small pat cook for 8 minutes or until became a cream, keep turning often. Wait to become room temperature before to use. Prepare the whipped cream be sure look heavy type
